Njegovo tijelo pronađeno je u Omanu, u gradu Muscatu, a DJ-ev brat David Bergeling je odletio u grad kako bi saznao više o njegovoj smrti. Uzrok smrti za sada nije poznat, no omanska policija isključuje ikakve kriminalne radnje.
Nagađa se kako je smrt povezana s prekomjernim opijanjem. Najplaćeniji DJ na svijetu bolovao je od akutnog pankreatitisa, potencijalno opasne upale gušterače koja je uzrokovana alkoholizmom.
